Spread Smiles with Jhene Aiko & WAYS to Children's Hospitals for the Holidays

$ 25.00

For Christmas in 2017, Jhene decided to gift her family with the ‘WAYS Foundation" in honor of her younger brother, Miyagi. In 2010, Miyagi was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. For two years, he bravely faced cancer. At the age of 26, he went to heaven.

That Christmas Jhene said, "This is something my family and I have had in the works since the passing of my brother. I decided to make a donation on my family’s behalf in which we plan to continue to help people and families affected by cancer.” The meaning behind WAYS, personally came from a tweet from Miyagi just before his passing, when he wrote, "Why Aren't You Smiling?"

The first mission for WAYS was organized by, Summer, from Brave Gowns. When she reached out, and asked if we would help spread more smiles in Miyagi's memory, we said we would love to be part of this. Throughout treatment, Miyagi, was always positive and in good spirits. We know the importance of a child's spirit during treatment. It's been our entire mission to bring hope and compassion to children that will be in the hospital over the holidays. Jhene has always loved dressing up for Halloween, so this was the perfect way to giveback this year.

We want you to be a part of our story too! We need your help to kick-off the holiday season by bringing the Trick-or-Treat to as many children as possible. They miss out on so many moments going through treatment. We want to make sure that they can still feel like a kid! The spirit of a child is just as important in healing as the medicine they're treated with.

 We'd love for you to help by sponsoring a Brave Gown for a child. Whether it's $1, $5, a Brave Gown or sharing our mission. Together we can be the miracle!

Let's hand out smiles! -Jhene, & the entire WAYS Foundation Family

*About Brave Gowns

Brave Gowns have gone through extensive Clinical Pilot Programs in the Children's Hospital Network. They were created with the input of a transplant team at Lurie's Children's Hospital. They have IV access on both sleeves, access to chest ports, heart monitors and full back coverage. While the gowns feel like a soft t-shirt, they meet all hospital standards and hold up to industrial washings.  Brave Gowns are a high-quality gown that helps eliminate infections and makes it easier to access every part of a patient's body while giving them compete privacy. Everyone going through treatment deserves a Brave Gown!
