This gown will be gifted to Addy, please read this amazing letter we received from her mother:
"This beautiful angel has been through enough in her life and epilepsy continues to steal from her! A drop seizure folded her legs right under her, snapping her tibia in several places. We had to wait almost 24 hours for surgery. While waiting she had a tonic clonic seizure while her leg was still broken and in a splint. After she came out of her 2nd seizure she was writhing and screaming in pain, trying to climb out of bed and pull her IV out. It took nearly an hour to get her pain under control. No parent should have to watch their child go through that and no child should ever be in that much pain. It’s going to be a long road to recovery.
6 weeks non weight bearing and who knows how many more seizures triggered by her healing body. At this time we aren’t actually sure when we will get her home. Her injury is significant and painful. Because of her autism and intellectual disability she is having behaviors that make it difficult to care for her.
It takes three people to get her to the bathroom and that many to get her calmed down and comfortable enough to rest again. There are major sensory issues that cause meltdowns about everything from how her blankets are arranged to where her hospital gown touches her and etc.
We are looking into some kind of rehab or home health but this is going to be a long and difficult process. For a kiddo with so many struggles. Addy is truly the bravest soul that I know. I wish I could be as brave as her."
