Sawyer's Biliary Atresia Journey Would Love For You To Help Their Family Spread Smiles To Other Children
As most of you already know, Sawyer was diagnosed with a rare liver disease called Biliary Atresia and underwent his first surgery at just eight days old. Sawyer had a liver transplant when he was nine months old when his uncle donated part of his liver in order to save his life. While awaiting his transplant he went into complete liver failure and was hospitalized several times do to complications as his disease worsened. Through many hospital stays Sawyer has rarely worn a standard hospital gown because I couldn’t stand to see him in one. They are ugly, uncomfortable, hard to keep on, and never fit. I have modified clothes and cut sleeves off of pjs to make them work with all the tubes and wires. Brave Gowns has changed all of this! These children and their families are going through so much and they deserve to be comfortable during their hospital stay.
