Spread Smiles to Children's Hospitals w/ the LLS Club at Wofford

Leukemia is the most prevalent childhood cancer, accounting for roughly 30% of pediatric cancer cases. For this reason, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Club at Wofford has decided to honor these tiny-yet-mighty fighters during ChildHood Cancer Awareness Month. 

The LLS Club at Wofford was founded in January as a philanthropic outlet for students. We are dedicated to raising funds and awareness for blood cancer research by fostering a community of enthusiastic, like-minded young people. After only three months on campus, we were awarded the Best New Club Award for our hard work on efforts from a charity pickleball tournament to networking nights for our members. Our first event, the “Blood Drive Block Party,” helped us to raise 30L of blood (saving up to 100 lives), add 26 people to the bone marrow registry, and even raise funds to make Chemo Comfort Bags for our local Gibbs Cancer Center.  

Next week we will host our Childhood Cancer Awareness Week, complete with a biscuit sale, an outdoor workout class, and ending in a “Yard Party” hosted by Fr8Yard in Spartanburg. However, we want to jump-start this campaign by asking you, our friends and family, for help.
