This gown will be gifted to Evelyn who is currently going through treatment for OEIS complex. This is what her family shared with us about her journey:
"Evelyn has OEIS complex. A very rare condition that begins around 14 weeks in utero. It occurs in roughly 1 out of 400,000 live births. She had an omphalocele at birth which has been surgically repaired. She has a colostomy bag because she was born with no anus. She had a spinal defect, a tethered cord, which was repaired in April 2026. At just under a year old, she has already had more nights in the hospital than most adults. Unfortunately, it’s not nearly over. Her bladder remains outside of her body, so she will have a major surgery in September 2026 to hopefully put that in her body. Her journey won’t stop there either. This is a lifelong journey and we hope to make her stays a little more comfortable with a brave gown."
