Why Brave Gowns makes such an impact: "If I have learned anything from being a peds onc nurse over the past 7 years, it is to advocate whenever there is a chance. I had the sweetest newly diagnosed patient the other day who got a PICC line placed. She called out and asked to be disconnected for her bath and mentioned how it was a hassle to be disconnected and reconnected every time. I was told that the hospital transitioned to better "quality" gowns, but they all only had ties in the back and weren't suited for those with PICC lines, which is every child on our floor. I felt a tad embarrassed as I encouraged the family to search online for gowns that would make their days a little easier. This felt so wrong after their life was just turned upside down. If there is anything you can do, please help!"
